Family Therapy and Support

Compassionate therapy supporting familes through life challenges, emotional wellbeing, relationship concerns, and meaningful changes with personalised guidance.

Family Therapy & Support

Family members can care deeply about one another and still find it difficult to communicate. Conversations may turn into arguments, someone may withdraw, or different expectations may leave people feeling unheard.

In family therapy, I consider each person’s experience alongside the relationships and circumstances around them. We explore how family members respond to one another, what happens when tensions rise, and what each person needs others to understand. The work aims to make room for different perspectives and help your family find more constructive ways to respond.

Sessions in English and Cantonese, in person in Central and online

Family Transitions

Support through changing roles, responsibilities, and relationships as family life continues to develop.

We can discuss who it would be helpful to involve and what you hope to work on before agreeing how to proceed. The focus will reflect your family’s circumstances and the needs of those taking part.

Positive parenting coaching

If your main concern centres on everyday parenting, positive parenting coaching offers a focused option. This may include understanding your child’s behaviour, responding to strong emotions, setting boundaries, or finding ways to communicate with less conflict.

I work with parents to consider both their child’s needs and their own responses in difficult moments. Together, we can develop practical approaches that fit your family, with attention to connection, clear expectations and the pressures you face as a parent.

If you are unsure whether coaching or therapy would be more appropriate, we can discuss your concerns and the kind of support you are seeking.

Family Support during Separation & Divorce

Whether you are deciding to separate, preparing to tell your children, or settling into life across two homes, parents tend to ask the same questions: what do we tell the children, how do we keep them out of our conflict, and how do we parent together when communication is hard?

I can help with:

  • Telling your children: what to say, who says it, and the questions that follow

  • Your child’s reactions: withdrawal, anger, school or sleep difficulties, and when to seek more help

  • Two households: routines and handovers your children can rely on

  • Communicating as parents: a workable way to share information about your children

  • Keeping children out of conflict: so they are never messengers, confidants or comforters

  • New partners: when and how to introduce someone new

  • Your own wellbeing: grief, anger, guilt and exhaustion

Ways we can work

  • Sessions for one parent: space to think through your own experience and responses.

  • Sessions for both parents: focused only on the children and practical arrangements, for parents who can share a room, in person or online.

  • Counselling for your child or teen: play based for younger children, with clear agreement on what I share with you.

  • Family sessions: to prepare for a change, repair a relationship, or help a child say something difficult.

  • Positive parenting coaching: practical support with everyday behaviour, emotions and boundaries.

We can combine these, and we will agree what suits your family before starting.
