Adult and Family Therapy in Hong Kong
You may be finding it difficult to manage worry, low mood or strong emotions. Perhaps relationships feel strained, familiar disagreements keep returning, or a change in your life has left you uncertain about what comes next.
I offer individual counselling and family therapy for adults and families in Hong Kong, with space to explore what you are experiencing and what you would like to change. Together, we can work towards a clearer understanding of your needs, more manageable ways of responding to difficulty, and relationships in which you feel better understood.
Sessions are available in English and Cantonese, in person in Central and online.
Individual counselling for adults
You may be managing your responsibilities while finding that everyday life takes more effort than it used to. You might feel caught in worry, react more strongly than you intend, or notice patterns in your relationships that you struggle to change.
Counselling offers time to explore these experiences at a pace that respects your readiness. I work with you to understand your emotions, the expectations you carry and the ways you have learnt to respond to difficulty. We can consider what continues to serve you and where you would like to develop different responses.
Some of the concerns we can explore include:
You are welcome to make an enquiry even if you find it difficult to describe what feels wrong. We can begin with what you have noticed and what you hope might feel different.
Family therapy
Family members can care deeply about one another and still find it difficult to communicate. Conversations may turn into arguments, someone may withdraw, or different expectations may leave people feeling unheard.
In family therapy, I consider each person’s experience alongside the relationships and circumstances around them. We explore how family members respond to one another, what happens when tensions rise, and what each person needs others to understand. The work aims to make room for different perspectives and help your family find more constructive ways to respond.
I support families with concerns including:
Parent & Child Relationships
Support for recurring conflict, emotional distance, and helping family members better understand each other's needs.
Communication & Disagreements
Explore conversations that break down, misunderstandings, and ways to address sensitive family issues.
Strong Emotions & Behaviour
Understanding how emotions, anxiety, low mood, or behaviour affect relationships and family life.
Parenting Together
Support for different parenting approaches, expectations, boundaries, and raising children across households.
Separation & Divorce
Explore emotional responses, changing relationships, and children's needs during family separation and adjustment.
Learn more →Family Transitions
Support through changing roles, responsibilities, and relationships as family life continues to develop.
We can discuss who it would be helpful to involve and what you hope to work on before agreeing how to proceed. The focus will reflect your family’s circumstances and the needs of those taking part.
Positive parenting coaching
If your main concern centres on everyday parenting, positive parenting coaching offers a focused option. This may include understanding your child’s behaviour, responding to strong emotions, setting boundaries, or finding ways to communicate with less conflict.
I work with parents to consider both their child’s needs and their own responses in difficult moments. Together, we can develop practical approaches that fit your family, with attention to connection, clear expectations and the pressures you face as a parent.
If you are unsure whether coaching or therapy would be more appropriate, we can discuss your concerns and the kind of support you are seeking.
How I work
I begin by listening to what has brought you to counselling, how it affects your life and what you hope to gain from our work. I also want to understand the relationships, experiences and strengths that shape your perspective.
My approach draws on family systems, schema therapy, mindfulness and work that recognises your existing strengths. Depending on your needs, we may explore patterns in relationships, examine beliefs and expectations that have become difficult to live with, or practise noticing and responding to emotions with greater awareness.
We will agree on a focus together and revisit it as our work develops. You can ask questions, tell me when something does not fit your experience, and help shape the direction of our sessions.
Making an enquiry
You can contact me about individual counselling, family therapy or parenting coaching without having decided which service you need. A discovery call offers an opportunity to outline your concerns, ask questions and discuss whether my approach fits the support you are looking for.
I offer sessions in English and Cantonese, in person in Central, Hong Kong, and online. Please get in touch to discuss appointment arrangements.
